FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick Keys alumni added a new member to the professional ranks this week as outfielder Elijah Dickerson (2024) signed with the Northern Colorado Owlz of the Pioneer League Tuesday afternoon.
Dickerson inked his contract with the Owlz following his 2024 summer with the Keys, in which he had a .282 batting average, one home run, and 18 RBIs. He also was named the MLB Draft League Hitter of the Week for the week ending July 28, after he compiled 11 RBIs in his first 40 at-bats to begin the second half.
Dickerson joins fellow outfielder Darryl Buggs in the Pioneer League, who recently signed with the Oakland Ballers back on February 20. He now becomes the fourth member of the 2024 Keys to sign a pro contract over the last month.
The Mount Holly, N.J. native finished his college career at Towson last spring and got named an All-Coastal Athletic Association Honorable Mention after his stellar senior season for the Tigers. During 54 starts in 2024, Dickerson compiled 21 doubles and 30 RBIs all while leading the Tigers in hits (75) and at-bats (221).
Before joining the Tigers program, Dickerson played at La Salle for two seasons and recorded a .272 average across 67 games. While playing for the Explorers, Dickerson hit eight homers and knocked in 51 RBIs, before electing to transfer to the Tigers program shortly after the 2021 season.
The Frederick Keys begin their 2025 season against the West Virginia Black Bears on Wednesday June 4 at 7 p.m. at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. Tickets and the promotional schedule will be released at a later date.
