Keys go for 12 runs on 13 hits in win

Frederick, MD– The Frederick Keys (9-8) drove in 12 runs on 13 hits en route to a series clinching 12-6 victory over the State College Spikes (6-11) on Tuesday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The Keys never trailed in the contest and the bats came out firing from the start with eight of the nine Keys hitters in the starting lineup at least tallying a hit or scoring a run.

Jake Plastiak (Kentucky) led the Keys team with a game-high four RBI, including a three-run double down the right field line in the 2nd. Grant Jay (Mobile Christian HS) collected a team-high three hits, including a triple into the right-center field gap. Jesus Peña (Miami Springs Prep) also picked up his first two RBI of the summer.

Right-hander Nik Galatas (Jackson State) struck out three in 3.0 innings out of the bullpen while also allowing three runs (only one earned).
