Frederick Keys Hang On for 10-9 Win over Trenton

Frederick, MD– The Frederick Keys managed to stave off a Trenton Thunder comeback on Saturday night, hanging on and defeating the Thunder 10-9 in front of a sellout crowd of 5,841 at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium.

Shortstop Dylan Hoy (Marist) led the way with a two-hit, 3 RBI performance, including a two-run home run down the right-field line in the 7th inning that would prove to be the winning runs of the game.

Golden Spikes Award semifinalist and right fielder Kendal Ewell (Eastern Kentucky) also shined in his Keys debut, collecting two hits and two RBI, including a solo home run in the 3rd inning.

Keys pitching allowed a total of 12 walks but managed to stifle Thunder hitters when it mattered most. The Thunder went 3-for-15 with runners in scoring position and stranded 13 runners on base.

The final game of the four-game series will be held Sunday, June 5. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm with fans getting the chance to meet the team postgame.
