FREDERICK, MD – Former Keys right-handed pitcher Kevin Gausman made history last month after starting game two and six of the 2025 World Series for the Toronto Blue Jays.

After throwing one inning of relief in game seven of the ALCS against the Seattle Mariners, Gausman combined to throw 12.2 innings in his two starts during the Fall Classic, helping the Blue Jays force a seven-game series against the eventual back-to-back champion Los Angeles Dodgers.

During his final start of the 2025 campaign in game six of the series, the Centennial, Colorado native recorded a quality start and had a postseason career-high eight strikeouts while only allowing three hits. It was his second straight quality start of his postseason career after going 6.2 innings while allowing three runs in game two of the series.

Gausman finished his fourth season in Toronto by starting 32 games and amassing a 3.59 ERA in 193 innings. This included a complete-game shutout against the Houston Astros on September 11, in which he totaled nine punchouts while allowing two hits.

While in Frederick, Gausman threw a combined six games across three seasons and finished with 17.1 innings pitched. Nine of the 17.1 innings came in his first season in the Key City in 2012, before eventually being called up to the Baltimore Orioles in 2013.

Gausman played for the Keys again in 2015 and 2016 and pitched in three games combined, finishing with close to a 2.00 ERA and recording 14 strikeouts.
