Final Score Williamsport 2 Mahoning Valley 4

Williamsport, PA - Unable to find the scoreboard until the 8th, the Cutters dropped the series finale to the Scrappers, 4-2, seeing their five-game win streak come to an end.

Jarrett Whorff got the start for the Cutters and struggled with his command for the majority of his five inning outing. Whorff surrendered four runs, three earned on six hits, three walks and a pair of hit batters. Whorff suffered his second loss of the season.

Colin Kennedy was stellar out of the bullpen for the Crosscutters, as he worked three scoreless frames to keep the Cutters within striking distance. Kennedy struck out for Scrappers, helping him work around a hit and a walk.

Christian Tyler gave the Cutters a scoreless frame of relief in the top of the 9th, against keeping the Cutters offense in a prime position to come from behind. Tyler used a pair of strike outs to work around a walk.

3B EJ Taylor was the lone bright spot for the Crosscutters offense, finishing the night 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Taylor delivered a two-strike, two-run single in the bottom of the 8th inning to get the Cutters within two.

Unfortunately, the Cutters would go down in order in the bottom of the 9th inning, seeing all three batters strikeout and their chances at coming from behind to complete the sweep were squashed.

The Cutters open up a three-game home series with interstate rival State College tomorrow night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. At Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.
