FREDERICK, Md. – **Kevin Karstetter **clubbed his fourth double of the season, and knocked in his seventh run, but the State College Spikes fell to the Frederick Keys, 7-2, on Wednesday night at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium.

Karstetter, a State College native, put the Spikes (9-13) on the board in the eighth with his liner to the warning track in left field, then moved to third on an error when **Alex Toral **drove in State College’s second run.

However, the Spikes were stopped there, and Frederick (11-11) added a pair of runs in the bottom half of the frame on a wild pitch and a Logan Sanders triple to preserve the win.

Sanders drove in a pair of Keys runs, while Daniel Figueroa went 2-for-4 with a double, scored two runs, knocked in two more and stole a base.

Luke Seidel also notched one of State College’s four hits in his return to the club after spending the spring playing collegiately for Milwaukee. Keyshawn Ogans added a double for the Spikes as well.

Starter **Jared Kengott **(0-1) took the loss after yielding the Keys’ first run on a hit and two walks in his lone inning of work.

Christian Wall continued his steady relief, allowing just one hit and striking out two batters in two scoreless innings for the Spikes.

Frederick starter Jonathan Pintaro yielded just one hit and one walk over four scoreless innings, and reliever Luke Pryor (1-1) picked up the win after giving up a hit and three walks while striking out two over two shutout frames of his own.

Thursday, the Spikes complete their series in Frederick with the rubber match of the set against the Keys. The 7 p.m. matchup will feature right-hander Thomas Wilhite (1-1) on the mound for State College against Frederick right-hander Geo Rivera (0-0).
